The project “Lishe Bora Maisha Bora – Better Nutrition, Better Life” has officially been launched. The initiative is promoted by NutriAid in the Samburu East and Samburu Central counties in Kenya, with the aim of contributing to the reduction of malnutrition and strengthening nutrition and health services at both community and health facility levels.
The project responds to the persistent and complex nutritional emergency affecting the target area, where approximately one in three children under the age of five suffers from stunting, and acute malnutrition remains a recurring challenge, particularly during periods of drought.
Through an integrated and multisectoral approach, the project combines interventions in the fields of health, nutrition, education, and agriculture, with the objective of building more resilient communities.
The initiative aims to improve access to quality health and nutrition services, promote appropriate and sustainable dietary practices, strengthen community awareness of nutrition-related issues, and support the resilience of the most vulnerable households.
The project is funded by the by the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers with the 8x1000 Irpef quota, whose contribution represents a key element in improving the living conditions of the beneficiary populations.
The vision guiding the intervention is captured in its slogan:
“Lishe Bora, Maisha Bora”, meaning “Better Nutrition, Better Life.”
Through this project, NutriAid reaffirms its commitment to promoting the right to adequate nutrition and quality health services, in collaboration with local communities and territorial institutions.
