In March, the NutriAid team conducted a monitoring mission in Madagascar for the project "Coronavirus Emergency: Preventing Pandemics with Vaccines", funded by the 8x1000 Waldensian Board.
Thanks to the support of the healthcare assistant, the main activites included:
Support to the Agents de Santé of the Municipality of Itaosy
Digitization of Health Centers to speed up the filing of children's health data, enabling integration and updating of national statistics, and providing a "digital vaccination booklet" that allows healthcare staff to check any necessary booster shots and promptly inform families
Door-to-door awareness campaigns to encourage completion of the vaccination cycle
The activities continued over the following months and ended at the end of July with the aim of preventing endemic and epidemic diseases and improving nutritional conditions also through community education on malnutrition, personal and domestic hygiene.
