It is safe to say that the activities of the Sardinegal project that NutriAid is implementing in Senegal are proceeding smoothly.
In the recent weeks, acoustic recording probes have been placed on the seabed. The probes are located 11 km from the coast, outside the protected area and inside the artisanal fishing zone.
For 12 months, the probes will record everything that happens: the aim is to study the marine fauna present and understand the impact of artisanal fishing on it.
In collaboration with: CLPA Conseil Local de la Peche Artisanale, project partner and State's referent for the fisheries sector, DGEFM Ministerial Direction for the Protection of the Seabed, ERAS marine services company, AACF African Aquatic Conservation Fund, an NGO specialized in marine acoustic recordings, AMP State Agency for the Management of Marine Protected Areas, and Municipality of Joal Fadiouth.
The project is funded by the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers with 8x1000 Irpef quota.
