📍 The construction of the new Pediatrics Unit at the Near Me Hospital in Loul Sessène is progressing with tangible results. This project will strengthen the district’s healthcare services and ensure access to care for thousands of children.
The goal is to create an integrated hub combining pediatric care, prevention and nutritional education.
In recent months, the site has seen significant progress. The following have already been completed:
- raising of internal walls;
- preparation of water and electrical systems;
- preparation of the floor slab, now ready for the final laying phase.
Once completed, the Pediatrics Unit will provide diagnostic, treatment and care services to over 44,000 children in the health district. The facility will work closely with CREN – the Center for Nutritional Recovery and Education, already active in treating malnutrition and educating mothers on proper dietary practices.
Together, the Pediatrics Unit and CREN will form a comprehensive healthcare hub, able to respond in an integrated way to the community’s pediatric health needs.

It brings together, on an equal footing, all labor unions in the sector (through their National Secretariats), as well as, on the employer side, the Italian Banking Association and all affiliated companies. It is the first and, to date, the only international example of an entity created by both parties within a national collective labor agreement and funded through “match-gifting,” meaning the contribution is shared equally between workers and companies.
